Hello lads
I have a Greys Nitra rod which was in perfect condition until a combination of wind and tide ripped it out the tripod and dragged it across the rocks I have lost the enamel inserts out of 2 rings and scratched the blank canny bad.
I am gonna have a go at fixing it myself but was wondering if i have to replace the damaged rings with exactly the same type? If there is a better quality `bomb proof` ring i can use will it effect the performance of the rod?
Can you get better rings than the fujii`s that are already on?
Any reccommendations re, whipping thread and high build brands on the market?
Can i get rid of the scratches on the blank?
I have an old `long ezee sport` that i am gonna practise on first like but any help would be great.
Oh and lastly i fancy having a go at the repairs just to test myself and see what kind of job i make. If i sent it to a professioal what sort of money do u think i would be paying?
Cheers lads
