    are slipper limpets any good for bait after been frozen down.

      ive used them live on a float before and had fish (i had ran outta bait on a holiday in S.W. Scotland)

      you can but only try.... but I doubt they`ll be as good as mussel due to not having any where near the same smell or bright juices...

        i agree with geordie, used them for the same reason aswell, can't remember if i caught on them but like he said the smell but its all over tooooo fast, they harden in minutes and dont have any scent from what i smelt lol
        Species: Cod, Bass, Coalie, Flounder, Dab, Rockling, Mackerel, Plaice, Pollock, Ballen Wrasse, L/S Scorpion, Common Blenny, Weaver (unfortunately), Whiting, Common Eel, Trout, Pike... think that's it

          When I was on holiday in cornwall I ran out of bait so i knocked a few off the rocks to try and I got my self a nice size wrass somewhere between 2lb and 3lb. Never really bothered with them since though.

            i have used limpets off the rocks before.
            im a great believer in trying all kinds of baits, at the end of the day fish are scavengers.

            a while back, i had 3 size cod 1 night, i was using the limpet with lug and mussel. seemed to do the trick.
            I have also had fish nip them off the hook, float fishing for wrasse.
