    Impressed.

Well found and as suspected another underhand way of trying to gain information, to eventually help stop all forms of bait collection in the area.

Would suggest no one answers this questionaire go s without saying really, and would said ban the individual off this site, as its totally anti angler in the long run. There again leave them on,atleast it identifys who where up against, better the devil you know, you might say.

      Very sly and underhanded
      Regards Nicky.

I stand by what I said and feel somewhat exonerated by the post above showing exactly what this research is for. The word 'management' can almost certainly be tied into future 'bans'.

Natural England have no love for anglers. Don't give them any ammunition to use against us.

there was one of these on the north wales section. asking about bass stocks, venues and tactics.

they even dug up all past posts about any bass.

              then published there findings

those who helped out or even had made reports in the past were not happy. dont think you,ll see a bass related report on there now.

                  Ashleigh's Response

                  Hello Everyone,

I am sorry you feel this way. I did not try to mislead anyone. Some of you know me and have met me along the coast of Northumberland as I have been carrying out my studies.

Natural England do fund my studentship, but Newcastle University is an independent research organisation. This ensures that the research is objective, unbiased and transparent.

Referring to the ‘future management strategies’ quote from the conference abstract, one management strategy can be no management at all, or very minimal, if necessary. The aim of my research is to find out more about the activities and to see if there are any environmental effects associated with them. These could be good or bad; or we could find that nothing changes. I have grown up on the Northumberland Coast, and remember my Grandfather going fishing with his friends. I see angling and associated bait collection as a local tradition that I envisage continuing for many years to come.

                  Thanks,

                  Ashleigh

you say your aim is to see if any enviromental effects! good or bad' and say it's been tradition for year and years surely studies have been made over the years ago to compare.
I think you will get better response doing your walks up and down the coast rather than here. I wish you well with your studies anyway.
