    hi everyone i would like to know where people think the best place is for the cod at the moment. where it has been getting cought. thanks

    Theres not a lot about, everybody is gearing up but its still a bit early, piers seem the best bet, other than boats, tyne mouth could be best as theres mention of 4lb codling.

          For smaller codling you cant go past the lower Tyne, loads of 8oz-1lb fish

          Walk way ona small tide casting 80+ out will result in whiting, dab, codling and coalie.

          Not much i am hearing of from many other marks

                best to fish the weed beds for codling at the moment.

                as the comp at the weekend showed, there are some nice codling hanging about in the weeds.

                you need a weak link for your sinkers, thick mainline and a good stiff rod to pull them out of the weed ;D

                they wont be present on the beaches in any numbers or size just yet.
