Chaps
I entered into the CSSC 2009 Qualifier (round 1) held in TyneMouth Pier Saturday 19th Septmeber.
15 rods fishing, results as follows, all fish measured on length:
1st: Dave Grieve Bag Length 235cm
2nd: Gareth Johnson Bag Length 205cm (ME!)
Joint 3rd Dave Mckenzie Bag Length 180cm
Alan O`Neil
4th ?????
5th Howard Paul Bag Length 115cm
Overall a poor days sport with it being a monster tide.
Best fish a coaly of 36cm in length, and i had 2 flounders for 35cm each (see pic)
As always, the end was the spot to have, which me and Dave Greive used to the max on the split rotation. (Each angler got 3 hours at the top of the pier, and 3 midway along on drawn pegs) There was a sizeable lobster caught, 3 very large edible crabs, and around 15 smaller edible crabs.
My Bag consisted of:
3 flounder
1 place
1 codling
1 coaly
1 Megran?! (bright lime green flattie, with huge eyes and a skin that looked and felt like a dover sole)
But there was a small Pollock, Granny Fish, and Dab also brought in.
Rag and Lug cocktail tipped with a small amount of mackeral being the best bait, on small trace lengths. Peeler was not so hot for some reason or mussel.
Regards
GJ
