  • Mackerel

I haven't had a single mackerel this summer despite targeting them via an assortment of means. I've had a good number of pollack and coalfish while trying. I've tried a few shots especially piers late evening/early morning but to no avail.

Anyone found they have been scarce this year?

Not really bothered about bagging them on the piers.

Had a few off the boats but just for bait on the day.

I,ll be sticking with squid, rag, razer and frozen runny this winter.

That's a cracker just shy of 2 pounds alright. Yeah I miss them alright. I've caught and made sashimi an hour later with them proper japanese style and i think they are an absolute joy.
