George is doing the work for Lewis's since the death of Billy Brown, who used to do all their work. He did a very good job re-whipping an old Apollo tip section for me recently - matches the butt perfectly.

        Cheers, Gary

PS. BTW, there is now a memorial plaque on Blyth Pier to Billy, highlighting the "X" mark, one of his favourite shots.

bought a stripped conoflex cod 6 with 2 tip sections which i got varnished and re-rung at frasers total cost was only £120 when i got it back it looked like new. varnish two tips and butt 2sets of rings and new diamond shrink wrap fitted well happy with the price. Recommend them to anyone for repair. Even put a tip ring on a rod in the shop for a £5 for me

Not sure here mate - I do remember posting about his passing earlier in the year and it does seem there were two "Billy Brown"s....As far as I know, the Billy who built & refurbished rods (and lived in Blyth) was a different fella to the Billy that many lads on this site knew, who I think was quite closely associated with NESA in it's early days.

                Cheers, Gary
