a realise you can stiil get the odd mackerel or two late on and have actually seen one taken in the middle of november, what a was wanting know to have the hordes of numpties decreased as they do when the mackerel catches start slowing down and the bait fishing gets back to normal. have been down the pier today and the reports are the mackerel catches are very poor this week and more of the other species are showing up more frequent, was at 1st gate today ( yes in that wind ) and had 3 dabs 1 flounder 1coli, and there was other lads catching similar stuff a lot more getting caught there than on my previous visit there throughout the summer.

well back on the pier second day running and never seen or heard of a maki being caught , but its a shame when we talk about one aspect of our sport the way we do and put it down due to the few idiots who spoil it , and when its done properly with light gear it can be a good substitute and fill in till the winter returns. so with the winter just round the corner, a good winter to all
