  • Cayo coco cuba

Off to cuba in 3 weeks and was wondering if anyone had fished there ?
There's 5 of us going for the big game and tarpon but I'll be taking shore gear , were stopping in tryp on cayo coco and have heard dog tooth rock is ok off the shore ? Any advice will be much appreciated.
    Cheers in advance paul
    I am a fisherman !
It is not merely something that I do
It is who I am !
Fishing is not simply my escape.
It is where I am supposed to be.
It is not a place that I go
But a lifelong journey that I am taking
It is a passage that was shown to me and that I will continue to show others.
When you understand all of this you will then know me .
    And we will fish together

We stayed at the blue bay 2year running the lads on the beach have boat rods and will take you on a wind surfer to catch baracuda we also fished the bridge where you go on the speed boat s catching garfish. We also hired a car and one of the waiters took us round all the good shots they are nearly all keen fishermen

We stayed at the melia cayo coco a few year back and fished from the beach at the hotel. We fished with lures, poppers I think they were called. I only caught small stuff but the lad I was fishing with pulled in 10lb tuna like fish. Put up a hell of a fight. There was some cliffs near the hotel and you could watch the fish following your lure in. Bread worked well as well

If you take some glo in the dark maggots and tiny hooks on a bit of mono you can catch your live bait
