Carbon Metal Express

Treat myself to a Century Carbon Metal Express on thursday. Bought it from dave at Trading Post - Sunderland (excellent advice & service). Could not wait to try it out so bought some rag off dave & headed for roker pier to try it out. First thing I noticed was how light it was compaired with my apollo mk2. Because there where a few people around I was just giving gentle casts & I found it a lot less effort than my apollo. When I managed to catch a fish (flounder about 1lb) it seemed a lot easer to reel in & gave great bite detection. Luckily as I was running out of worm the pier got a bit quiter so I put on a plain leader with a 5oz lead, gave it a half pendulum with my reel in the up position & watched it go to the horizon. What a rod, absolutely fantastic. Cann't wait till next week so I can try it off the beach and see what it can really do.
Conclusion : Well pleased with my investment & roll on the winter.
