  • Need some advice on cambois

thinking of having a go at cambois later in the week but i have never fished it before. would greatly appreciate some advice on what baits and marks would be good to use. so far the baits i will be taking is rag, crab, mackerel and mussel but not sure on the rest.

    cambois

hi tommy cambois one time my favourie haunt along with sandy bay
ive always found cambois beach 2 hrs eitherside of low best,,just to the right of the wansbeck and all the way to the pipe,,,long casts not needed,,lug in winter a killer here but for summer use rag will be fine as there are bass on odd occasions...mackrel strips for the flatfish as recently ive had no bother wi crabs, even reet up to the rocks at north blyth,,others may say this part of the beach ramp etc but i find it shallow here and all my fish comes from the north part of the beach

nice ground no tackle loss car safe, sometimes good fishing what more could we ask for,,,im thinking of a few hour there to mo nite 9ish till 12 ish
my m8 was there the other nite and he said the sand eels were leaping out the water,,,,,something after them ?? good luck

the rocks are always a good shot for summer codling, nice and red out of the kelp.
i like to fish just behind the 2 -3 windmill.
some really good rock marks around there, but be prepaired to loose some gear, best to use a strong 30lb line and a rotton bottom for your leads.

the beach is always a good shot as well, you normally get a nice gully and some tide around the rocky island just behind the houses at cambois.
the area round the entrance to the wansbeck is always worth a shot.

cracking beach in the winter if you catch it at the right time ;D

Cambois is one of my regular places to fish. I usually fish just next to the rocks, down from the ramp. Been getting quite a few whiting there recently on lug.
