Hello mate, sure they will be loads of opinions on this but I have the p3,e1000(not t1000)and just sold the Excalibur tt,in my opinion the p3 is my favourite, more user friendly at 14ft and has the thinnest butt section, handles all the rough stuff and puts a lead out a long way as well.appreciate the t1000 is an improvement on the e1000,lighter etc and my mates that have them love them, much longer than p3 at approx 14ft 8,the butt section is the next size up ,not a problem but after using the p3 just feels a little odd,but still a very powerful rod and can be too much for some anglers, the Excalibur tt is a beast in my opinion and for a certain type of angler, longer and thicker again butt section.I was using seven ounce leads and only bent the top foot section lol.sold mine because after using the other two with thinner butt sections it did feel a Bit of a pole and I was wrecked after a long session. These are just my opinions sure they'll be loads more out there, hope it helps.cheers

cheers for that,i used to have a e1000 but was a tad heavy so the p3 sounds spot on and its quite a bit cheaper than the other 2

t1000 for sheer grunt and lifting big fish up cliffs, tt casting and all round situations in my opinion.
never had a P3 so carn,t comment but i,d go with the century because of the easy customer service to be honest.
Maybe someone else can give their opinion of the said rods.

I've been using a P3 for all my rough-grounding for about 4 years now - by far my favourite rod for the purpose. I too had the E1000 but just found it too long & unwieldy for my liking - but then again, this will depend on your style of fishing/casting. The new T1000s & TTs at just under 15ft suit a lot of lads fishing reel down & seem particularly popular with the string & mangle brigade.

The newer P3s are a bit different to my older model - a friend got one recently & although I've seen it in action I haven't had a chance to have a chuck with it yet to offer a direct comparison. I can say though that it seems to flex a bit more in the top 4 ft or so before locking up when bringing in fish. It's also a little lighter than mine, but to be honest the weight thing has never bothered me - all modern rods are way lighter than the dural-butted fibreglass monstrosities that I grew up with in my teens!
