i mentioned in a post the other day about the bloke who lost his nitra when a bird flew in to his line and pulled the rod and reel in
well i spoke to him this morning
he phoned greys, they said you can have another one covered on the conditional guarantee
he drove up to greys and they gave him a brand new nitra for the sum of £30(£15 per section)

what can you say to that then

got say it doesn\'t suprise me that much. Greys service has got to be the best in the biz.

whenever I have called em they have been super helpful. Rang em last year having stood on the tip section of me fly rod. I mentioned to them whilst on the phone that I didn\'t get a hard tube with the rod when I bought hence the accident. next day, new tip section arrived with a hard case with a note that if the colour match was different on the rod (if mine had faded at all) to let them know and they would send the other sections

    outstanding!

Isn\'t it great that they are a local business as well!

I\'ve attended a number of \"best practice\" events for customer service and manufacturing with local government funded organisations such as One North East.

Hardys / Greys are always well represented at these eventsand its good to see they take what they learn back to the business. I wish my lot would do the same and I wouldn\'t get so frustrated!!

Lost my rod bag for my Greys rod a while ago whilst fishing, its got a 7\' tip section and at the time you could\'nt get aftermarket rod bags /sleeves,i contacted Greys and they emailed me back saying they did\'nt have a spare bag but would sort me out with a new one,i was in Alnwick not long after i contacted them so i called in to see them, they still did\'nt have any spares but since i had called in to see them in person they took one off there rods in the stores and gave it to me,really nice lads, very polite and professional,I insisted I had\'nt come in to pester them about it but they would\'nt listen and sorted me out there and then, top class ............Excellent showroom as well,my Visa was trying to get out of my pocket as well, had to push him back......

Alan they often have a sale over two days around the new year. Sunday tends to be the best day as everything is muck cheap. Fly lines RRP£45 down to £10, Rods slashed significantly along with clothing. It\'s at the Willowburn sports centre in Alnwick.

been and gone for this year, it was end of august. I got to the one last year, and on the last afternoon everything was discounted even further - got a platinum Xi fly reel, rrp around 100 quid for a fiver! they were knocking out greys orions for 30 quid, apollos for 50. the hardy gear was marked down as well. bought a hardy gem fly rod for 27 quid, bit like a piece of liquorice and weighs less than 2oz!

they usually sdvertise the sales in the journal a week or 2 before the date. but I suppose you could ring em to ask when the next one is

Great to hear about a company providing good service. Fact is if a company doesn\'t then they should be boycotted until they do. Am I right in thinking that Greys shifted there manufacturing overseas though?

I think you\'ll be very hard pressed to find any tackle thats not made in china, including penn, daiwa and abu
