  • Angling participation survey

    Hi Guys

A major, new research programme on the social and community benefits of angling is underway. This research aims to collect vital evidence about the influence that angling has on participants, young people and the communities in which angling takes place. This survey is part of a major, new research programme entitled, The Social and Community Benefits of Angling, funded by the Big Lottery Fund. Millions of people go fishing, but public knowledge is limited about the different forms of angling and the particular benefits individuals, young people and local communities can get from it. The organisation who is running the project is Substance who is a not for profit organisation.

By completing this survey questionnaire you will be providing vital information for the research, which will inform both angling organisations and policymakers.

This is not a survery which in any form will be investigating angling methods and trying to restrict it in any form but instead is just looking at the various reasons people go fishing and trying to get everyone else to understand our sport moreand the reason we participate as well as raising the profile of it.

Please follow this link in order to complete the questionnaire:-

    Cheers

Is it me or my computer but that link is taking me nowhere near an angling survey.
All generalisations are false, including this one

Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

More funded research in order to further manage my hobby - think I'll give this one a miss.

Angling used to be a form of escapism, but it seems to be turning into one massive gravy train.

This is quite the contrary Elton. The aim is to make the sport more accessible rather than managing it. Not saying you have to complete it though as each to their own

just filled this in, why the hell do they want to know how much cash i have as income ?? that one raises serious doubts about the full survey to me, i left out those details and my email address for that reason alone, im sick of mail offering to sell me this and that
