  • Cambois beach access question

I was going to have a go fishing on Friday down where the old hot water pipe used to be and I vaguely remember that there used to be a bit of a car park when you drive under the railway line where the beach house is at Cambois. Its been years since I went and was wondering if its still accessible there? If not, does anyone know the best parking place to get to that bit of the beach?

    Cheers
    Dean

Might be better off trying further up the beach towards the wansbeck, where the big pipe is might be canny as it'll disrupt the water aswell as probably being a hidey hole for smaller fish etc...

Good idea mate, I might try a few places. Mind you, I looked at the sea at Whitley Bay on my way home tonight and its huge. Massive swell on. Might be better off on the pier I reckon.

With a bit sea running up there you should do well from the beach. Ragworm should pick you up a schoolie or two.

Good point, as bluepied says park at risk - better off parking on-street or next to the former shop ( the place next to the rail undercut) than out of sight if your in the evenings.....

Well I will give it a go mate. Its over 20 years since I used to go sea fishing so I have forgotten alot that I learned, I just wasn't sure if maybe the sea was a bit rough.

As for parking, might well park on the street if I can. Last Saturday night at the ramp, the police showed up about 5 times during the night. Dont know what was going on but I do worry about the car sometimes even if it is just a knackered rusty Mondeo
