  • Travelling light,

Guys i have a weeks holiday coming up in August up at Seahouses.
Did,nt want to take the kitchen sink tackle wise so the light gears going in the motor.
Now cheap and easily storable bait is a problem. My mate recently returned from the Mull and he said sandeel was as good a bait as any floatfished for Pollack-might just buy a few packs and take them up for some float fishing off Dunstanbrough castle.
The spinners and plugs will be going in but it was hard work last year i had nowt on them.

Whats the nearest good tackle shop up seahouses way.
Tried Berwick but the shop just had cheap s--te rag in boxes and was very expensive. Contained about 10 skinny half dead worms

mick if you going to morpeth you could always call in to amble on the way back for some top class fish and chip's at the lush chippy on the street corner then pop into amble angling centre

Amble's probably better for your bait, mate.
                    Good fish & chips too.

I'll 3rd that. Cracking bait and fish and chips.

Can't say I've tasted the bait, but the chippy is spot on.

Alnwick is closer than Amble and you can usually get fresh rag. Last time I stayed up there we travelled into Alnwick a couple of times and there was a cracking pub somewhere on the road to alnwick on the right hand side, seem to remember it had some raised lodges outside near the car park. It is only about 16 miles.

folding camping shovel, like the little army things, takes no room at all and dig a few lug when you need em, you can get a few rag in seahouses harbour at low tide as well

Cheers guys-Mark took a shovel last year but the beach i went to was protected by the
Nature trust-so left alone. I have been told there is worm up at the back of the glof course so i might go over there and try.
As to the harbour its a big no no. Tried to get some last year but signs all over aying you could not dig. It looks rotten with worm but in my position its not worth the aggro.
I,ll persevre with sandeel and some lug if i dig any and worm bought at Amble.
Mick. (plus i,ll take a tenners worth in the coolbox).
ps My missus will NOT let me keep live bait in the fridge-full stop.
