Absolutely xxxxxxx disgusting!!! I do hope those involved are caught & locked up!! Too xxxxxx angry at the moment to make a very coherent post I did wonder if I was sometimes a bit harsh about some of those xxxxxxx who "fish" there, but it really does seem that there are some whose intelligence doesn't even match up to that of their quarry!!

Hope that the salmon lad & his family are ok, & get to see justice done. It would just be a real shame if everyone else had to suffer the consequences of these brain-dead feckers

don't think it's just coz of the 'net though Coddy...Blyth Pier has always been a haven for the f***wits every summer...and if you consider the last three "reports" on here for there they weren't exactly glowing were they?

either way it's JUST macky FFS

can see this type of thing happening over Cod before long...then it'll be the "proper" fisherman

my thoughts go out to the salmon fisherman and his wife and bairn, god knows what they were thinking, watching him getting beat up then having to sit in a car as some brain dead half wits come over and start smashing it up ,they must have been terrified, sadly incidents like this are becoming more common in our society and only reflects a moral decline in our society as a whole.

hi guys,Is it not possible for a club to take over the pier and just using it for club matches and club members.it would be better than closing it completely .would that not work if put infront of the council just a shame.

av fished it for years and years and you do get idiots on the pier but never seen owt that extreme go on, a havent heard owt yet and am dwn pier regular and live in blyth, could be a case of chinese wispers(such as an exchange of words etc) if any part is true though a hope there ok, jus seems a bit strange to me though unless the yobs have stalked the fisherman followed his boat and then followed him to his car(which would have been parked in a diff area to those using pier

also think there will be summik else they can do rather then closedown or demolish the pier, be ideal if they could sort out a yearly fee(not a fortune) to use all the piers in area, that would most probabily get rid of the idiots and stop alot of undersize fish etc gettin killed

Could have been nothing as simple as seeing the boat berthed and the guy coming off within the area just as you come off the pier.
The fisherman often take the cars in,could have been a chance meeting.
Who knows just a thought.

In the Summer months, the scum element in our sport far outnumber the genuine angler on most of the piers and promintories in our area.

That's one of the reasons I go 'Trouting' 'till the Autumn you never get this sh--e whilst fly fishing.
