Has anyone ever took fishing tackle to Benidorm? i'm off there next week and wondered if there is much point in taking gear with me, and if so what should i take? I'm not bothered about catching anything massive, just a bit of sport.
Any advice you could give me would be appreciated.
Yipppp.....
Enjoy Benidorm m8. It's the best place in the world, I go every year. Never give fishing a thought when I'm there though. However I have seen telescopic rods in the odds and ends shop next door to the Western Saloon Pub....

You need a licence to fish in the sea in Spain. Not sure if you get fined, but they can confiscate your gear. As the guys have said - buy a cheap telescopic with reel, take some small hooks and bubble floats, buy some prawns or squid, pick up some bread from the hotel and you should do ok. If you do get nabbed then you've only lost 20 euros.
I fished at Benidorm loads. Never knew u needed licence-mind not been for a while. Locals use roll of bread and wrap line around the bread. Line has half a dozen small treble hooks tied to it and one hooks are fed into bread. Chucked out and when fish go for bread they impale themselves on the hooks-not very sporting but it fills the plastic bottles they have with fish.
