Another good video mate. Keep them coming.

Any chance you could ask Paul what he does when he gets snagged when he's using braid? I've heard it tightens up if you try to pull out with the rod.
    All the gear, no idea.

he mentions about getting snagged up in the seaham pier video he says if you use 50lb + braid it doesnt tend to bite in on its self, what i do is if i no im snagged get my wooden tube from my box and pull it out,,, thanks for your comment

Nice one mate, do you have to walk down to it?

That rod was an absolute beast, far too much for me

Been looking forward to this one and did not disappoint, wouldnt mind a chuck like! Nice one getting the drone, I think that will really impress and draw in some new viewers

Gonna have to say that as someone who has been stung (or sliced...) by braid, I maybe slightly disagree with what Paul is saying. What he is spot on in saying is "when used correctly" As long as you have a few seasons under your belt, why not give braid a try on a multi - but in my opinion there is undoubtedly potential for serious damage if you do something daft with it so do be careful. For me, it was getting the braid caught under my fingernail - nails are always now trimmed for fishing!

So has Paul blown up the saltist yet or does it just seem to have a high resistance? Do there seem to be less nests with braid?

Also, as I dont have facebook or twitter or owt like that and because I'm a big fan Can I make a request that Sandman considers doing a fixed spool video sometime? His opinion, comparison to a multi and so on, would like to hear his thoughts on using them from shore for beachcasting and the growing number of lads converting.
(and hes not allowed to just say there crap )

i mate thanks for your comments im sure we can do a fixed spool review using braid in the new year, we have a few braid vs mono tests to do like what gets you the best distance using a multiplier mono or braid, and same for fix spools. pauls a massive lover of fix spool reels,

braid is a touchy subject at the moment as a few lads are now using it on there casting reels, but be safe and dont over do it we should all be fine.

the drone is our mates johns we have a good few fishing videos planned with it and im trying to convince him to allow us to attach a rig on it and fly it out 800 yrds and drop the bait off lol what a video that would be ...

I've tried braid on a multiplier a nd agree with Paul. There's no problem. If yr reel is set up correctly yr thumb moves away from the spool as you release the cast/ thumb. Most of my reels have mag brakes and this can be wound of midcast no problem.at all. In fact the braid does bite in slightly means it's very controlled compared to mono but won't cast as far as mono.i use a mono leader as per normal and pendulum cast a canny way with it. But not as far as mono. I still have 5 digits on each mit😆

Think there maybe a point being missed here to be honest ! Using braid on a multiplier may be beneficial to an experienced angler. However IMHO its a totally different kettle of kippers to a novice ?

I doubt the reel would blow up if the braid was wrapped around the tip _ it wouldn't of even been turning _ and that mark has a fresh water stream just below it and very very heavy ground in front

I've been using braid on my 6500s for about 6 months and I've blown the reel up a couple of times. I fine the resultant nest much easier than mono to untangle and still have all of my digits. It worries me a bit when I read about the possibility of losing the end of a finger or thumb. Has anyone ever come across a documented case of this happening?
