  • I'm off to roker pier.

I'm going down roker pier on saturday with a few friends and family most of which have never fished before, so if you're down there and we snag up your line I apologise in advance.

I will also be doing a bit of cooking so if you want a bacon sandwich or a burger just ask.

    PS
The trading post ( hylton road Sunderland) have a bargain on at the moment which consists of a beach caster rod, a fully loaded reel, 10 sets of daylight feathers, 10 snap links and 10 weights all for 39.99 just a heads up for any beginners out there.

Fished Roker Pier on tues morn for 7 hours & from about 30 rods only 2 mackerel caught. Luckily I had some ragworm with me & caught 5 small flatties (all of which returned safely). Saturday looks a bit windy/overcast so I dont offer much hope for mackerel. Best to get some worm just in case. You are right about davy at the trading post doing some good deals, this is were I get my rag/lug worm. I now work weekends or else I might be tempted just by the sarnies. Best of luck & lets see how you get on.

Was on the pier from 9am till 9pm on Sunday there were the usual chav's sling lead weights around at 200 miles per hour and casting 10 yrds smoking dope and screaming and shouting.

I think at a guess there was an angler every 5yrd from about halfway up the pier up to the round house at the end. Only 3 makrel caught all day.

We tried for macky and failed.

We did catch a 2 lb Gurnard, 2 small coalie and a 1 and half lb coalie and a lobster.

The coalie and lobster were both caught in a pot which was chucked about 10 yrds from the pier 4 hrs before high tide. Very shallow water.

When are the police or council gonna patrol the piers to stop all the dick heads chucking cans in the water and leaving rubbish all over. Taking drugs on the pier is just unbelieveable.
