£50 will get ya a half decent second hand one but nowt special , so don't expect a great tool and be put off using them , I've just went onto them with braid and it's a total different way of fishing , ya bites are fierce and a crabs nibble can lift the butt .... Haha , but give it a try , it's not for everyone tho
      Good luck bud
      I am a fisherman !
It is not merely something that I do
It is who I am !
Fishing is not simply my escape.
It is where I am supposed to be.
It is not a place that I go
But a lifelong journey that I am taking
It is a passage that was shown to me and that I will continue to show others.
When you understand all of this you will then know me .
      And we will fish together

Yes it is, I seriously doubt the lad will get one for that price!

I'd go for a 2nd hand Penn surfblaster, you will get one for £50

I've been looking out for a 7000 sized fixed spool for a while; I've had a Surfblaster before, and didn't really fancy one again, so looked at everything else out there, and found this bargain

Pecheur.com, specialists in the sale of Fishing equipment: Predatory, Carp, Sea, Trout, Fly, Catch... and Boating equipment! More than 800 brands on Pecheur.com.

It's a French website, but I've had a couple of reels from them and both times, it only took 2 days for delivery.

That link doesn't work, because of the 'swear detector' on here! It won't allow the word sal****er!

                    Try this one:

Pecheur.com all the fishing world and even more[20%20..%2085]&s=Shimano%20Beastmaster%20reel&ordre=is_available ,DESC;afs:relevance,DESC

It's the black and yellow Shimano Beastmaster 7000, £51.24.

The navi or biomaster are good reels for the price. I used a navi for a while and it was tough as out. Use what you can afford at the end of the day. I blew up a trio rex and scored for an ultegra 14000 xt, old model granted but a japan made model which are the best for 45 quid and 50 quid back.
