A buddy of mine was over there the other saturday, he had lots of doggies (including double shots) and pollack on the float, so it should be a good place to try at the moment - better than round these parts anyway!!

just came back from camping there, no rod tho, check out solway view campsite, cheap as you like and a farts breath from ross bay and i guess, point!

definatley going back with rods and mates, plenty of fresh mussel to be had from the rocks around small bays under the campsite, i'm guessin it'd be good bait cos the beaches are made from shells, bezerk!

completely different from the east coast as where our rocks are flat, theirs are steep, as fook, water is deep and the views are excellent.

              can't wait to get back!

              cheers.........tom

If you want doggies, take plenty of sandeels. Torrs Point and Ross Point the best marks. Be careful if its wet. The rocks are lethal. Plenty of flatties in the bay.

No one uses them up there.

All you need is sandeel or ragworm for the dogs and Pollack.

During the matches up there, I use a 3 hook paternoster with half a 4 inch sandeel or ragworm. Its a pain in the ar*e when you get 3 on in one go though.
