I\'ve got an old (but good) Conoflex heavy rock rod that has seen better days and I\'m wanting to give her an overhaul and have her good looks restored, just in case she\'s ever needed as a backup over the winter.
The varnish has chipped off the rod in several places, the shrinkwrap is split and the high build on the whipping is cracked and shoddy.
Replacing the shrinkwrap isn\'t a problem, but I\'m not sure how to go about restoring the finish? I\'ve seen countless badly varnished rods and want to know the right way to do it.
Any advice would be gratefully received, Cheers!
