      Fritz is the trade name of what is also know as Cactus Chenille

      As northeast1 says it is basically tinsel fibres on a core of thread. There are various sizes and numerous colours, inlcuding ones with ultra violet reactive strands in them. To use it simply pull a few fibres off one end and tie the core in along the shank of the hook and then wind the chenille around the hook in touching turns

        Was back on Blyth pier yesterday evening, started at the end for half an hour and slowly worked back. Tried the shallows for school bass and nothing there. Whole load of people on the length and didn't see a single thing caught the time I was there (90mins i guess). Just walking it until the fish start showing, won't stand there getting RSI for nowt!
