  • A strange request / question

Evening everyone, got a bit of a weird question for you all... And I am not on the cadge before anyone asks

My father in law was always a keen fisherman, in his time he has done shore, boat, river and still water fishing. Anyway a good few years ago he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Over this last year or two it has got so advanced he has had to go into specialised care. We were trying to think of something to get him for Christmas and he wife has suggested a book on fishing. Fishing is about one of the only things he can remember, and that includes his family!

    Now for the strange bit...

Since he likes to carry his favourite things around with him in his pockets the book has to be thin - probably no more than 100 pages or so, it has to be a paper back so he can easily get it in his pocket - and since his eyesight is really bad now there has to be lots of pictures, preferably more pictures than words. It doesnt matter if it is about sea, shore, river or still water as long as it relates to fishing - Does anyone have any ideas???

    Thanks in advance

    Pete

Fantastic offer fella, but it looks a bit big for his pocket (he has a thing about pockets at the minute - likes to keep all his stuff in them.)

Its something with not too many pages, lots and lots of pictures, and can slot into a pocket. unfortunately he doesnt have the capacity to read much now, he has very little attention span left - which is why a book with mostly pictures would be best for him. Something he could pull out, have a quick peek through and then put away.

I went for the freshwater one in the end, from the same guy, as it was freshwater he spent the most time doing - was a fantastic with a fly rod in his time.

                    Cheers for your help everyone

Managed to find a couple on ebay yesterday - it has big pictures of the fish and then a little description on where they are found etc - so hopefully this will do him - size etc was fine.

Thanks again for your help though, shows the kind of people we get on here.
