  • Cornellian Bay, Scarboro

I am after a bit of info!

When I first joined I\'m sure somebody said they had fished Cornellian Bay near Scarborough. I am planning a trip out soon and wondered if anyone had any advice for it (baits, rigs, species etc)

    Cheers

The coast from the spa to cayton fishes best during and after a blow, there is a free park at sea view drive and a road down which will lead to holbeck there is a new sea defence which you can fish from it is where the hotel fell into the sea.
At bottom turn left that will lead to towards Cornellian Bay there are many places to fish mainly kelp covered gullies look for them at low tide at the point before Cornellian Bay there are two big holes one is the horse shoe basin all this area is tackle hungry use a rotten bottom system.
Best bait is fresh crab at moment worm and mussel comes later in year
you could try Filey brigg there has been cod from there all summer to crab.

      Thanks Gwyn

Had a look down this morning, can see the gullies you mentioned, will have to give them a try.

Also in Cornellian Bay itself there is a large channel that runs parallel to the beach, is that worth a chuck?

Have only been down the Brigg with the spinning rod recently but will get a trip soon with the big rod!

Might see you around sometime as we are both based in Scarborough!
