  • Fishing... what\'s that again?

Well, between work, cars, kids and sorting the house out, I\'ve been out fishing all of twice in the last lord knows how many months :-( Both times just for a brief half hours spinning on the pier, last time was over 6 weeks ago. Sheesh.

On the upside, bar a front wheel bearing and an exhaust back-box to replace at some point on one car, they are both running spot on. House has been re-decorated with only a couple of little jobs to finish off and the development work I\'m doing for the project is winding down a little.. By the end of this month I may well be re-learning how to throw a lead around :-)

In two minds on how to play this Autumn/Winter out though, I\'m still going to be tight on spare time so sitting on a beach all night long isn\'t likely to happen often, maybe try a few of the local rock marks - Any tips on the Seaton Sluice area? I\'ve had a few chucks down there, only taken the odd whiting and kissed goodbye to tackle though. Anywhere that\'s likely to produce some results within a 2-3hr time window?

my personal fav is cambios youve got a choice of beach ,rocks and river had a couple of small whiting and 1 decent sized codling up to now, hopefully to get better as the year draws in,st marys is supposed to be crap by all acounts, was gonna try down in the bay bit as you go into seaton sluice you bear right and park in front of the houses ,walk down the wooden steps onto the slab or down the ramp near the end of the road ,looked quite rocky though and does get rough when the surfs up,its behind the pub more or less :P good luck
    cheers Bri

Cambois - Used to fish the hotpipe many years ago, other than that i\'ve fished the beach there twice i think... never the rocks though.

S/Sluice - Beach opposite the Astley Arms used to be my favourite spot in 1988 thru 1994, rocks wise i\'ve fished a couple of times directly behind the pub above the harbour (straight out from the old harbour entrance cut through the cliff) with no luck. Charlies Garden area a couple of times on the high tide into the bay but only had whiting/coalies.

What does Cullercoats Harbour fish like now on a high tide? Fished from the jetty there on the Tynemouth side of the bay, casting out to sea, in 1987 on a number of occasions.. tackle graveyard at the time but I had a few decent cod back then during the daytime.
