  • Komp S / TT Sport

How do the two above stack up against each other? Ideally the current models, Both state mixed to heavy ground, similar length and casting weight. But what are they like in the real world? Bite registration, tip stability in winds, and general use as a main rod for our coastline. SHMBO has given me the nod so just after a bit more info before forking out the most I will have ever spent on a rod by a long way!
I was all set on a Komp S but, and this is picky I don't like the green whipping and much prefer the copper on the TT sport sad I know!

Very similar mate. I found the tt sport a bit more stable in the wind and easier to cast but not a great deal between them in my opinion. Tt sport for me. I also prefer the copper whipping lol. Why not ask the lads on here if anyone is willing to let you have a cast of theirs before buying!?

Magpies, thanks for the offer but I've had a cast with each (both older models) and liked both probably the tt a bit more due to the tippier action but as it was just a cast or two with each, I haven't fished with them so was concerned that the tt might flap about in the wind a bit too much, and I've already got an afaw that does that. I was also unsure of how good the tt would be in the heavier ground but I suppose a rotten bottom rig could sort some of those problems out.

i used both these rods side by side for 6 months. [original models].

the tip sport is a "j" curve blank while the komp sport was more through actioned.

i originally bought the komp sport as a heavy ground rod to go with the tip sport [as advised by century].

it turned out that the komp sport was no more powerful than the tip sport.

fished side by side they would both load the same amount with the same fish or weight on.

the tip sport stood much better in the wind and is much thinner and lighter.

i sold the komp sport on.

i dont know if the new models are the same though.

The TT sport is supposedly designed to sit well in windy conditions Andy. If it was my money (as above comments) I would go for the TT!
