Silly question but is it the right sized seat for the rod? I guess it's not that hard for someone to make a mistake in the factory and put the wrong one onto the rod. Both of my century seats fit flush to the rod ad wouldn't need any tape etc adding

Century reel seats are really shoddy pieces of kit, still beggars belief that they can make top quality, expensive blanks then look to save a few quid by putting a not fit for purpose reel seat on there.

Get a fuji DPS of the right size then using the Century seat as a guide cut a groove for the coaster with a small hack saw. Job takes all of five minutes and you will have a quality moveable reel seat that will last as long as the rod will

I changed the reel seats on both my century rods on Stewarts advice and following his instructions fitted Fujis bought from Andy Rutherford. So much better. The century reelseat on my TT sport fell apart on the rocks up at Howick, which spoilt a good session. When I got my T-1000 I changed the reel seat before even using it.

That's what I'm saying, might have been fitted wrong in the factory.

I have bought at least 10 new century and everyone has broke within 3 months, my Ttr and t1000 broke the first time I used them. There top end rods bit poor quality reel seats is a understatement I dont see Ferrari putting wheel trims on there cars.

This is true but their 458 did have a habit of setting on fire because of the glue they had in the rear wheel arches getting too hot. (Slightly off topic, I apologise) should be covered my warranty, shoddy parts

come to think of it the reelseat should be replaced foc at least for the 1st year at least they would put better 1,s on as they would be inindated with those cheap 1,s
