does anyone know of a reel with a clip down level wind that can be moved out of the way when casting then put back in place for winding in,one of the lads i got chatting to said he`d heard of them but wasnt sure who made them ?
Idont know about that one ,, I\'v oftain thought about cutting a small \'\'\'chink into my leavel wind so I could lift the line out of it when I cast then put it back in when I wind in,but I dont know wether this would improve my casting distance or not ,, does anyone else have any ideas on this cheers Tich
the reel was a abu ultra mag with split level wind the levelwind pushed into the sides of the reel and when you reel in they come back together, no longer in production but it was a canny reel when it was out. i do not know of any other reel that does this
Cutting a notch in the guide wouldnt work, as the levelwind would still drive the guide back and forth as you cast.
imho youd be better off just mastering it if you could.
