      18650 | eBay

laptop batteries do work but they don't have a button on the + end , connection issues occur , with the lamp flickering or just going off , when you walk about .

buy protected cells also . because when these cells go flat they don't hold a charge anymore, the protected cells turn off to stop that happening.

It's more likely to be a charging problem than a battery issue mate. The charging circuits in the cree headlamps are really poor. I use a separate battery charger to charge the batteries rather than relying on the inboard charging circuit in the headlamp. If you already use a seperate battery charger then it may be a battery problem.

I do the same plenty on ebay UltraFire 18650 and chargers make sure they are from a UK seller if from China it will take a much longer to get them

No idea mate. I have 6 of the plain blue ones and have had no bother with them as long as they are charged in a charger and not in the headlamp. I am an electrician and have found that it is pot luck with any rechargeable batteries and most of them exaggerate the mAh rating anyway.

I agree the genuine Panasonic batteries are much better.

Some advice for anyone buying a set make sure the are the "button top" cells and not the "flat top" ones.

                      Cheers Ian.
