    iv'e put my winter gear away and i don't think i'll bother getting it back out next season ,just totally dispondent with the cod fishing this year,from 32 sessions in the teesbay iv'e had one codling,11 whiting ,5 flounder 2 dab and 2 small coalies and blanked at least 50% of the time. i know fishing is't all about catching fish, but it's the most important part, and when there's no fish catching sesh after sesh and your freezing your own tackle off, you start thinking there must be better things to waste my money on than this [like watching h,pool united trying to play footy in the freezing cold] so next sea
    son i'm not going to bother, there again it might be a bumper;;;;;;;;;;

    dont be disheartend old boy myself an most of the lads i know feel the same way but you will get your gear out nxt season cos like the rest of us you,ll be pining for the winter in a few mths as daft as it may seem giving the season we have just had , cos theres somthing about that big wet monster that draws us back year after year.........

      As I have said a few times before.The Mull of Galloway fishes its socks off in the summer and it aint that far away. Need any advice on the area just ask me.

        Just cane it in October and November mate next year and have the proper winter off!

          sommit up there mate " its the best fishing for 50 years" how did ya only manage 1 codling they have been jumping out up this end into our fish bags try next winter if you dont beat 1 give up i say

            honesly codseeker, in past years i,ve had more cod in one sesh than all the whiting i,ve caught this year, totally rubbish season.

              lol you always catch the cod m8 so nee wounder ur sayin sommit up there m8 haha! hes like me as ive only caught a fair few codling but hey i didnt try your end lol so maybe thats where the fish were at

                Paul i know the season has not been on fire but i,m happy-got my personal best off Steetly and have had 3 others about 4lb mark. A couple of two pounders.
                Murdered the whities-some massive fish.
                Overall i am pleased and will be back.
                Mind i did blank a couple of times at Seaham and once on Southshields.
                Personal best, 12.5lb Tope Scotland. 22/05/2012.
