  • 28mm Fuji Reel Seat

    Hi,
Does anyone know where I can buy a 28mm Fuji Reel Seat. Looked on e-bay - loads up to 26mm, but can't find any 28.
Tried a search on Google, but the only one I can find is £27, and NOT a Fuji.
I've tried an ABU adjustable one, but it is very bulky, and makes controlling a cast with a multiplier quite difficult.
    Thanks for any help.

    reel seat

A fuji 28mm reel seat will probably cost you over £20 anyway.give the tackle shop at blyth a ring, they usually have them. 01670 365980.

I heard Fuji have stopped making the 28 & 30mm reel seats, so you'll be lucky to find any in the shops now (unless they've got some old stock) and yes, they were a lot more expensive in the larger sizes.

UK hooks, got one last week, they have found a supply as most companies do not make them anymore. £22 from memory.

What rod are you putting it on?

You could try a Talon, bit fiddly but do the job and certainly won't damage the butt if it's a 28mm rod...

              Hi Stewart,
My rod is a 13' Century C curve. Overall I still rate Century as good value rods. However they suffer from the collar coming away from the screw mechanism.
I've looked at the Talon, but I will still go for the Fuji.
Thanks again for your reply though.

My memory may well be playing tricks but I'm sure the butt diameter on the old Centruy C3 was 25mm or so (same as CM/CME). Has it got tape or extra shrink on? If so it might be cheaper to strip it back, put new shrink on a fit a home made 26mm fuji dps with a groove cut and coaster. Would make your casts a lot easier to control (grip) as well...

(and yes, Century really let themselves down by putting shoddy, cheap reeel seats on top quality blanks. Replaced the sliding one on my TTLD after less than two months use (with a home made fuji) after two different Century seats broke )

I think the c3 was 28mm mate but the CME etc is 25mm. I queried it a while back with century when i was looking into buying a second hand rod. I'm sure that's what they said anyway lol

Thanks lads, it's definitely 28mm. I've ordered on from UK Hooks. £20 including postage.
