  • Going over to the MOG tomorrow

It is really early season for the Mull but anyone been over yet??? I have not fished since Australia so feel the need to get out.We are going over tomorrow and coming back Thur/Fri.will have at least one session out.

Will probably try floatfishing for Wrasse/pollack at one of my marks just south of Port Logan."Hopefully" there will be a fish report to post when I get back!!

Well thats the plan!!!! Going to try and "jolt" the wrasse out of their winter slumbers with some groundbait.Got some mackerel and herring at Morrisons in Whitley today. Will mince this up with some limpet and will be using limpet as the hookbait.

I find this a top wrasse bait.Just have a walk down onto beach in front of the Clash site at lw and can collect all I need in 10 mins. All you need is a hammer and a bag/bucket.Normally one bash from the side and they are off!!

Actually it is also a good pollack bait.Had a couple of hours pollacking at a spot on the west side of the Mull last year.I was using my Snatcher sandeel lures and got out(and returned) 7 fish in about an hour. They ran to about 4lbs

My mate George in the meanwhile had only caught 3 but had lost a cracker of about 10 lbs at the surface.Anyway I had a few limpets in my bag so rigged up a sliding float as fancied catching a few wrasse. Three casts and three more pollack. It really can be a killer some days.

Fished the "Upholder" out from Amble two years. Was tipping my hokkies with limpet and came out top rod with the most cod.

Sorry digressing a bit team!! It will be my first trip out for the year and it would be nice not to blank
