I've seen the way a lot of people treat their rods and it does not surprise me when they get damaged...

...oops it broke when I dropped it on the deck ...stone the flipping crows now I didn't expect that did I??

I've heard the same things about the quality of the eyes on the SK3s and I would do exactly the same thing as ecoli - get them replaced ...wasn't so hard was it
I cannot believe this comment why on earth would you want to buy a brand new rod and have it re-rung, kind of defeats the point don't you think. The point i was trying to get across was that if you build a rod for the budget end of the market you are are targeting the most vunerable part of our community( ie those on a limited budget) and it is a community is'nt it? This rod in it's present form to hear them talk has been tested in the rigours of the sea angling enviroment in all types of terrain. So if this is to be believed then surely they must have known there was a problem, and corrected it accordinally. I for one would have much more respect for sonik if they had held their hand up and said eh hang on lads theirs a problem with the SK3's, if you have problems we'll re-ring the rods with better guides. They HAVE'NT and here lies the gripe, they have people in there crosshairs who can ill afford to be targeted and the majority of our so-called (im all right jack) community think it's ok. I think i'll change my name to KING CANUTE because i most certainly do not.

I'm trying to think of an eye for an eye pun but failing
Actually I think of my rod as a precision instrument that I use to throw a huge bait 300m into the North Sea to surgically extract very large cod. Anyone spot the slight exaggeration? I sounded like a Gazette article for a second

Seriously though no rod with ceramic inserts is designed to be dropped but I can understand people being annoyed if the inserts are falling out during normal use.

Did the original poster not pay £35 for a section sless? i think that may just about cover it. I've really had enough of this thread, there's been alot of mud thrown and unfortunately for sonik some will stick.and they thoroughly deserve it to be quite honest.FULL STOP

Graham, the difference in cost to the manufacturer between Fuji bnhg guides and the guides they are putting on now will be pennies rather than pounds.
                Labour costs remain the same.

Sonik prices will go up very shortly thats if they have done so already, there prices were set when the dollar was trading at $2 to the £1.
The markets have changed and the dollar is very strong trading between $1.40 and $1.50 which is going to force all products up in price.
Julian Shambrook (Anyfish Anywhere) has started putting BNHG guides on his rods and his rods have not gone up in price because of guide change.
If people think you are an idiot, why speak and remove all doubt !
