fished lynemouth beach sunday night, had fresh lug rag razor,mussel,not even one bite for 4 hrs fishing, i have never blanked there, as there is alway a bit of lift there.i cant understand where all the cod have gone ? in the summer there was loads of 10 " little coddling, any of the pro out there explain ???

its all to do with feed during the summer the sprats and sand eels are inshore but as the temp cools the feed move to deeper water so the fish follow but if the seas come away it stirs the bottom up and dislodges the feed so the fish come in closer also it colours the water so the fish feel safer in the murk thats why cod are caught after darkold anglers never die -they just smell that way

Still plenty codling caught at lynemouth beach mate but as mentioned mainly after dark. If your after codling try the river at the moment, they are chocker with codling"In order to becomes old and wise, first you must be young and stupid."
PB. Ling - 12lb 6oz. Cod - 11lb 6oz, Coley - 3lb 6oz, Pollock - 4lb 1oz, Flounder - 1lb 11oz, Plaice - 1lb 10oz, Whiting 1lb 9oz.

cheers fellas , i might save my cash till the sea comes away, or we get some winter weather, i fished up the river last year and i caught a couple of codling, they looked funny like they had there heads bashed up against the wall. and when i fillet them the meat did not look right, so put them in the bin.
