Just to thank all of you who have checked out the Loch Ryan page and especially those who have signed the petition - I'd like to think it will help Loch Ryan SAC's cause when they are able to show support from other areas of the UK.

Hi seanyrooroo, i had started that thread in various forums on WSF and got a warning for "shotgun posting", therefore the MOD removed all comments.

            Cheers Guys,,, keep em coming

Heres the letter that was sent to the Scottish Government

            Val Ferguson
            Scottish Government
Aviation, Ports, Freight & Canals div,
            Ports & Harbours Branch
            Dear Val ,
I am writing to you on behalf of Loch Ryan Sea Angling Association regarding the proposed development of the Old House Point area of Loch Ryan by Stena Line ferries.
I have a number of concerns with this project, including access issues and the effect such a large construction will have on the environment of the Loch.
The Loch Ryan Sea Angling Association would therefore like to lodge a formal objection as we strongly believe this project will be detrimental to the environment and local community.
I have enclosed an open letter which has been published in the Sun news paper and through out Sea Angling forums, including the associations web site where we also have an on line petition to protect Old House Point.
I would be grateful therefore if these genuine concerns were given serious consideration.
            Yours Sincerely

Remember we still need more signatures to submit to the Scottish Parliment....

Please read and sign Save our rights to fish Old House Point Petition

            Many thanks.

                                Done !!!

As i have added my comments on the page, i agree on one hand with the proposed development if it will provide more jobs and job security for people, especially in today current climate..................however having fished there many times in the past as an i think it's a disgrace, hopefully a compromise will be reached and all partys can be happy, although i doubt that will happen, even if it did for a while it would not be long before the tosspott anglers would arrive and ruin it for all.

The main thing that boils my **** about this is that the goverment dont give a **** about us anglers and our needs, however if the proposals where to interfere with local wildlife or even worse if a bat lived in the area the whole country would be up in arms, and there would be all sorts of commitees and specialists involved, the the proposals would be stopped.........you ever seen the laws governing bats, and the penaltys you recieve if you disturb one ???

Good luck lads, keep up the fight
