  • keeping worm baits when needed ?

hi everybody looking for advice about keeping worm baits overnight or even 1-2 days rag /lug as the only place i can keep them is outdoors in the shade or freezer but what is the best way of doing it this way. instead of the keeping them in the fridge.

Why can't you put them in the fridge?

Best solution if you can't use a fridge would be to get a cool-box and a whole load of freezer cool blocks. Freeze the blocks then put them in the cool-box all around the container with the worms in - just make sure the container with the worms in isn't in direct contact with the cool blocks or you're chance to end up freezing the worms and killing them (put the blocks in and pack some newspaper around the worm tub).

My missus works in a lab-she will not let me put any worms in our fridge because of germs.
All i do now is to use the cool box like 5150 suggests. Its a fanny on changing the blocks but this cooler time of the year the worms can last me a week-i also change the newspaper daily.
Clever dickies who live on the coast and have old fridges in garages can keep ragworms for a very long time. All you need is fresh seawater and a flat dish to lay the worms in. Any damaged worms need to be taken out as their blood is very acidic and can kill healthy worms.
Airation systems are also cheap and can be used to keep lug alive.
