hi has anybody used the above thinking of getting one what are they like for rough ground and bite detection and are they not soft in a wind if that sounds right

I've got the ultra power original with captive reducer. its a great rod but a bit heavy in the butt. lots of power though. I've also just invested in the icon Msport power and having used it twice now it is also a fantastic rod. Bite detection is not compromised at all on either rod. would recommend either in my opinion. some good deals available at local places- seen the msport power up for £125 at moonfleet. hope this helps

yeah, its billed as take anywhere rod. I wouldn't personally use it for really heavy stuff but its got a bit of power low down to pull fish through the kelp etc.
I bought the ultra power for the really heavy stuff.
Fished with the power rod last night into the wind and it still chucked the bait a fair distance like and coped well with the weed etc.

i have a icon sport power mk 1, the one with the captive reducer. Its a great rod and all the better for the fact i picked it up for about 100 quid brand new

I really can't imagine a better rod for anywhere near the same money.

I have all 3, match, power and ultra power, the power will cope with rough ground but the ultra power will excel in rough ground, bite detection is great at distance or even close in, tip section doesn't bounce about in the wind like them horrible old compressor SS models hahaha
