i cant fault it for casting.

never fished with it yet, but will be in the next day or so.
my other road is a conoflex, its a bully rod for ripping your gear and fish out of weed and snags, its a great rod, in fact its swesome, you could hook the plug and pull it out no problem. Just the bite detection for fishing over clean ground and flat weather is a bit on the crap side with it being so stiff.

The sonik sk4 seems to be the rod that can bridge the gap, which is exactly what i was looking for ;D

Soniksports.com if that helps. I bought the Sk3 14ft rough ground rod from the factory shop at Blyth when they first came on the market £109-99p used it all season at rough ground rock marks from Cambois to Craster and carnt fault it up to now.

ive had mine for a while now and at first i thought it was a tad too stiff but the tip seem's to be softening quite nicely now. has anyone else who owns one noticed it happening or is just my imagination

i know that your on about the 14ft sk4 but heres my report from a while ago on my sk4 13''6 rod.....

just been out with my new rod.... a sonik SK4 (SK4SR010) 13' 6" 4-6oz and was well impressed, the build quality and finish are excellent, had a few overhead thumps first just to get the feel of it using a 5oz lead and reel in the high position. it loaded up quite easily recovered well, tryed a cast along the beach into a slight wind and paced it out at about 145 yds. next tried pendulum with reel in high position and it felt really good,i could feel the rod load up on the rotation quite easily, after a few more casts, i found that by slowing the cast down the rod performed better,, paced it along the beach at about 170 yds,(clipped down rig used)..also tried otg and it performed admirably....so time to fish with it...used a clipped down pulley rig with pennel the bait was runnydown tipped with peeler first , the beach is relatively clean but kelp beds and gulley's are about 120 yds out, the sea itself was not quite flat but had a few small breakers for about the first 40 yds then the deeper water starts
first cast was about 100yds.. just before the kelp ...the rod stood still in the tripod, with very little movement from the breakers....anyway there was a small knock then another which the tip showed brilliantly, this resulted in a yting about half a pound ....rod christened on 1st cast..brill....next cast i put it a bit further just into the kelp, within minutes a distinctive rattle and i picked the rod up and held it ready,...knock knock...strike..next a small codling of about 1 3/4lb....the bite was felt easily holding the rod....third cast further still..right into the kelp, but no bites..hooked the kelp on retrieve....but managed to pull out...the rod handled it easily..only the top 3ft - 4ft giving... with plenty of beef in the middle part....so far so good ...well impressed for the price..cant wait to really give it some stick later this week....will post details

since writing this i have used it for nearly all my fishing except for really heavy ground, although it could probably cope if used sensibly...although fishing has been poor i have enjoyed casting with the rod and have no qualms recommending a sonik rod to anyone as they are well worth the price and IMHO are better than some of the more expensive rods from the other leading
          manufacturers..
          cheers

            i fished with it tonight.

impreesed, fished some rough ground and it was fine.
didnt manage any fish but the rod has good bite detection, had a few rattles.

rod was strong and managed to pull my gear back from a few snags ;D

well worth the money in my opinion
