Has anyone fished here? Iv been told it's as good as norway for big fish just not the number of fish around
I was thinking of going in van with two mates
& prices work out cheaper than I thought for 3 of us
But can't seem to find many reviews

"Thank you for your email. In November our low season prices will apply throughout the month. Lads do very well for big fish up there from the boats but not sure from the shore. Long way to go for a blank.

          Just fishing off the shore,
The way I look at fishing now is if you manage to catch a fish that's a bonus
The 13 hour ferry crossing is gonna be the worst thing about going as apparently it gets very rough!!

i haven read the report, but have it on decent authority that the shore fishing is not so good, despite the many spots round the island screaming fish.

if you want boat reports go on W S F and fill your boots

i have fished Muckle Flugga as have few n/east lads, and its heart stopping!!!!!

Theres a lad on WSF (Shetjan) who used to post reports of some good fish on there, but from what I've read, these fish are very few and far between. Like Lingking says, it sounds like its very poor considering the marks up there.

I,ve recently been in touch with the skipper of the boat mentioned in the Shetland report, the Oberon. He informs me that he's fully booked next year, apart from two days, the 12th and 13 August. He also thought that I was looking to book the boat for a group of people(I was only trying to book myself!) and I think the cost was about £750 a day. That's not bad if 6 of you go and you can catch fish like a 40lb cod or a 50lb halibut. I'm looking to get another 5 lads to go up there in 2016 for a weekend, preferably August/September. If any of you are interested, pm me and we'll get the ball rolling.
