  • Coleman Lantern Repair

Just got round to fixing my Coleman Northstar. Decided to get it up and running again ready for the very cold nights (if only to warm my hands over). The problem is that there is a very noticable pulsing, which I have found out is due to an air leak or a problem with the air/fuel supply. Basically by replacing 3 parts I should be guaranteed to fix it. Finding the parts though is a different matter!

Anyway, to get to the point after 2 1/2 hours of searching I managed to find Coleman Uk\'s phone number (on the Argos website!). If anyone has a Coleman lantern I suggest you make a note of this number: Coleman UK Plc - 01275 845024.

    I\'ll be calling them tomorrow!

Mike, Jims Discount Tackle in Cornwall also stock Coleman lantern spares - generators, globes, mantles etc and they are much cheaper than most of the other mail order tackle dealers. www.jims.org.uk.

Cheers, but he only sells one of the parts which I need (and it\'s the one that most places sell). The parts I need are the pump assembly, the valve assembly and finally the generator. Only one of these is the problem but I guess at least it will be like new again once I\'ve fitted them all!

        Thanks again.

Bri - Jims are the cheapest Northstars I\'ve seen. Suppose you\'ve got to add postage though. Also noticed that he does the Tiga headlamp cheaper than I\'ve seen anywhere!

OK. I called Coleman and they have given me the name and number of a UK company who sell all spares and repair coleman products. They were very helpful and their spares are very cheap. The company is:

                  Andy Eddy Ltd
                  PO BOX 420
                  Western-Supermare
                  BS24 9XT

                  Tel: 01934 814 276

Call them first and ask the prices. Then send a cheque (no switch or creditcards unfortunately).
