Ice Factory,North Shields??? Well it does not really matter does it. That fish entered the Tyne, between the piers and went crabbing upriver. If it had not been caught at spot X it may have made Newcastle Quayside, now that would be a front page story!!!

Calm down lads, back to reality,it was a great "one off" but thats all it was unfortunatly.A shoal of 20lb+ cod have not swam into the Tyne, mores the pity

I just hope you make a liar out of me

i nearly lost me rod there one time when baiting up another rig! suprising how many decent fish get that far up the river

aye the whole of the walker riverside park can throw out decent fish but the cars and shopping trolleys make it hard work

Isn't Smiths Dock actually a trespass only venue now these days.??...of course it wasn't caught where people are saying it was - all I know is that High Shore/Royal Quays/Smiths Dock will be rammed with lads trying to bag up on the huge doublers that shoal up like mackerel at this venue now for weeks
                  Ooh a new vid!

I know that a known mark can more often than not throw up a good fish or two but if a mark that isn't known for it throws up a fish it gets mobbed anyway .

Are people so stupid to think that one big fish means that the mark is teaming with lunkers .

I have heard of people taking bags of quality sized fish from a mark ,all in a session , my reckoning is that a shoal has passed through or is feeding in the area for whatever reason.

It's like people chasing a storm ,if it's reported that it was there last night ....... would it have to be there the next night ??

Steve that fish was big enough to be a whole shoal.

i remember it being a tad snaggy lol
and the car park being covered in glass and some strange looking black car outlines on the floor. dont think its that bad around there now, most of the houses have been boarded up or flattend
i used to work right on the river at walker/byker area.
fook me, the amount of cars that were nicked and broken into was unreal!!

then we had the good old cop chases to watch when on nights haha

i was suprised with the fish i saw come from pottery bank, for being that far up river! might be worth a chuck or 2 when the sea is this rough, cod mite be slummimg it with the salmon lol

I find it amazing that people need to know where it was caught ,if the person who caught the fish does not want people to know where he fishes, i have got no problem with that ,as people might have fished that mark for years and never caught a fish anywhere near that size, is it not enough that he has shown that a grand size fish has been caught ,took photos and posted them on the site, it gives anglers like me ,in this barren spell , the incentive to go out and keep trying, so that one day [or night ] it could be me that catches a wonder fish like that, well done to the man who caught the fish ,i take my hat off to him , but it does not mean that there is a shoal of 20+lb fish swimming in the same area , and people should consider this before trying to find out where, fishing is fishing ,i bet he did not go to the spot because he heard there was a big fish in the area ,right place at the right time ,with the right bait, and a little bit of sea craft as Mick always says, anyhow, WELL DONE THAT MAN
I'M NOT FAT ITS JUST THAT I HAVE A SLIPPED CHEST
