Don't think it was caught on Tynemouth Pier like. He was fishing a Hartlepool club match in the river somewhere.

I know exactly what he was fishing. How many times do you see people catching fish from 'a lower tyne estury mark' because they dont want people knowing they were fishing tynemouth pier!

I could be wrong but i've had from a very good source that it was a bit further up the river than the pier. Not much further up tho

What amazes me is .....if a report of a big fish comes in then the venue is swamped , WHY ??

I know that a known mark can more often than not throw up a good fish or two but if a mark that isn't known for it throws up a fish it gets mobbed anyway .

Are people so stupid to think that one big fish means that the mark is teaming with lunkers .

I have heard of people taking bags of quality sized fish from a mark ,all in a session , my reckoning is that a shoal has passed through or is feeding in the area for whatever reason.

It's like people chasing a storm ,if it's reported that it was there last night ....... would it have to be there the next night ??
You can take the lad out of Walker but .......

there's a mark up the walker area that always throws out a double every year.
