Seen the new longcast version in frasers. Look like a very tough reel but a little heavy, not a patch on the higher end shimanos but great If your just after a winch for the weeds or something you can batter about they will be great. My mate has the battle and std spinfisher and they are tough as old boots with no flexing of the reel foot under load. The new 7500 spool looks a little small for heavier braid but will be spot on for up to about 40lb. Spool size looks very similar to a 7000 size Surfblaster. If there is an 8500 size that will be spot on!

Ive got one, havent used it a great deal as yet but very happy with it so far. Seems very robust (well made), nice and smooth and you can get god distance on your cast with just a flick, I used it with a Penn toughstick in the summerWeapons of choice
