i'm fed up at looking at the weather forcasts hoping for a northerly, what do you get, westerly or south westerly winds ,iv'e waited all year for the winter cod season and the northerly winds that should blow at this time of year, hopfully bringing the cod inshore, instead the sea is as flat as a fart and is clear as the indian ocean on a good day, i can only remember only one good northerly blow since october. never mind roll on the summer you'l bound to have loads of sreaming northery winds just when you don't want them .[whats wrong with our weather has it done an about turn]

Are these SE winds no good in your part of the world? I guess the east coast of Scotland lies differently to the NE of England. Any southerly wind with a touch of east in it stirs things up enough to get the fish going. There has been some very good fishing lately and hopefully this will continue.

Unlike scotland, down here we need a BIG sea first to stir things up and bring the fish in. You's will prob have fish inshore already. There'll be one or two about but not many. Last thurs i had 2 codling from tynemouth beach and missed a clonker of a bite. Havent been out since. The 'five plums!' Northumberland sea league champions.
