  • INAPPROPRIATE FISHING

There was a topic a while back which promted a reference to \"inappropriate fishing\" and disregard to other beach users. Can\'t remember what it was called, but if I remember rightly, it started off about a report of a Council proposing the \"banning\" of fishing from its beaches because it came under their \"Antisocial Behaviour\" classification
Last Summer, I was taking photos along the seafront at South Shields for some Council promo stuff. Lovelly, hot, sunny day......loads of kids playing on the beaches (as well as mam & dad), littl\'ns in nappies rolling around in the sand.....all having a great time: Just the sort of photos I was after.

Stood on the Groyne to get a compressed telephoto shot of the scene.......couldn\'t believe what I seen in the middle of the shot.........

    Here\'s a closer look......

Odd though it may seem, and i agree he was acting stupidly and shpould have gone on the pier or Groyne. But he is the only one on the beach who has a legal right to be there, general public do not have this right.

As someone who regularly fishes the littlehaven beach (only ever at night in the summer mind!) I was wondering what the hell he was hoping to catch with all those people in the sea (unless it was a jet skier in which case I\'ll lend him some large trebles!!)

However, I was down at the Sandhaven beach last week in the blazing sun, having a plodge with our lass and the bairns, when I almost stood on a flattie about 3 yards out, and the sea was heaving with kids! I also grabbed an edible crab about 6 inches across in a foot of water, so it just goes to show?

                      Lol Alan......possibly.

Or maybe reparing the tip section of the rod after removing it from within his mate

By the looks of it, he could actually\'ve be skewered to the ground by the tripod

Has anyone considered who may have been on the beach first. Doesn\'t seem to be from the responses.

I for one would be well ****ed off if they started paddling around me when they could have seen I was fishing.

I had similar situation with some divers at Beadnell & Howick They had the whole place to enter the sea yet picked 10 yds either side and then proceeded to swim in front of me. Did I move....nah but did have a few casts in their direction.

I have a feeling he wasn\'t consulted/asked if it was okay, yet all hell would have probaly broke loose if he turned up and started fishing if they were there first.
As my dad used to say....Man who go to bed with itchy bum......wake up with stinky finger!!!

Tell me about it Ian, I\'ve got a collection of sport kites, been down and found a quiet spot on the beach to fly them loads of times only to have groups of idiots walk directly through the flying window... odd how some people just don\'t regard certain things as a danger, but you can bet if someone stepped in the way and took a carbon framed delta wing in the face there\'d be nowt the matter...
