Need the weather to change

Was going to title the thread "Need a good Blow" but I thought that might raise a few eyebrows

...seems the lack of consistant decent fishing has got people going for each others throats (on here at least)...

My last 3 trips out have all been crud - scratching for tiddlers in the river...I need/want the weather to turn horrible IE not great for land lubbers but fantastic for we fisher-types...hooly northerlies would be a good start to drag the fish back inshore...

good storm brings it back into play.. been reading and i would normally try to fish the storm but apparently if your wanting to fish the rocks then 2 days after the worst fishing with mussle is a good shout... due to the fact the good fish comein close to eat the aftermath of the storm lol and rock normally brings smashed mussle..so i read anyway lol

Both my doubles have come when it's flat, just goes to show that you never know when or where. I'll be hitting a rock mark tomorrow for another hopefully. If you don't have bait in the water then you won't catch. The best bait you can get will always help pull in fish when there is no movement. A bucket full of blacks at the ready for tomorrow......here double double

Agree you need to be in it to win it...am not out until next friday at the earliest and the tide is probs not the best for Whitley Bay but I'll be giving it a go anyway...failing that I'll hit the river on the way home to try and scratch out a tiddler

when there is a northerly blowing as you all know ,the sea rises,which in turn makes big waves that in turn smashes thousands of ton of water on to our beaches and rock,s dislodging all types of crustations and worms from thier hiding places ,the cod and every other type of fish know this ,so they come close inshore looking for easy meals in large numbers,what i'm saying is that of course you can catch double figure fish when its flat calm ,but your chances are greatly improved during or just after a storm, except that does't apply to me couse i don't catch any fish no matter what the weather is like.

just a thought, do the cod come inshore becouse of the scent trail released by all the food sloshing about ,or is it the vibrations of the sea pounding onto the shore line.

well we might get a warm blow on Sunday and a cold blow on Wednesday! The Southerly might put a bit of sea on this weekend & we may get a NW midweek that will put a decent sea on. (Could be a bit of snow after next weekend as well!)
