    woah, woah, woah,

Not everyone who critisises our illustrious boys in blue has a criminal record.

Maybe they just read the press and aknowledge the fact that around twice a month a serving police officer is convicted of a serious criminal misdemeanour.

I'm not saying that 'All Coppers Are Bent' but enough of them are for it to be a major problem to the British public.

Isn't getting into trouble for taking sea water what this thread is all about?
It will be interesting to see what the law actually says but I remember reading an article in Practical Fishkeeping years ago about keeping native marines and that implied that it was in theory against the law to remove water from beaches.

dunno if you frequent marine fishkeeping forums, theres a fair few threads from lads that collect the stuff, and not in small amounts, i have never seen the warning thats its against the law to do so, not that im saying your wrong just pointing out that warning has never been seen by me,though yes i am aware its against the law to take native livestock from the beach, still if its correct it seems daft, the beach below the mean high water mark belongs mainly to crown estates, over 55% of it, however the beach is mainly static the water over it can come from anywhere so can a law be in place that owns the water actually be in place ?? you may get cautioned but i cant see the cps wanting that cherry and the costs of it if some jobsworth arrested you over it

perhaps its now time to make sure everything is totally dry before you leave the beach, and god help any one who falls in

Just caught the start and end of this thread. Does that mean u can get pulled for removing fish, worms and crabs then?!

an angler has the right to collect bait for his own use, certain bye laws maybe in place that restricts the area you can collect bait though, like the one everyone ignores at Boulmer.

This cannot possibly be true. Its so ridiculous that i,m lost for words.

I can imagine the custody sgts face when you inform them that the person you have arrested has been nicking sea water from the sea.

Unfortunately it's a different breed of digger that digs there today Alan to those you helped back when that Byelaw was introduced.

Think that when the Marine bill goes through and we start getting Marine Protection sites popping up all over the place, Boulmer may well become one of them and you may well be done for taking more than sea water. wether people want to believe it or not worm populations, size and quality are suffering with the amount going there. I took the kids for a walk there on New Years day and noticed there was a burger van and wondered if that was to cater for the diggers, there's so many these days.

It may well be that in the next few years we are forced to accept a licence, bag limits and no take zones if we want to be part of deciding how fisheries are managed.

If a quota system was introduced, say like what is in place in Australia, where you are allowed to take a certain number for your own use i.e. worms or consumption i.e lobsters (strict penalties for not obeying size limits) then it may go a long way to conserving what we have left.

My mate told me he shot a pheasant with a 12 bore at about 100 yards up, when it fell it landed on a hare and killed it out right. He walked over to it, picked up the pheasant, picked up the hare, and would you believe it.......there was a pound of mushrooms under it.

It,s probably him that was stealing the water!!!

Don't get so uptight everyone, the police have just arrested me for illegal use of oxygen, from now on I'll hold my breath..........
