i know the slosh is cracking.... never used it just the past 4 days getting bits ofmoney packed into one place to buy one lol... so spending 4 hours stareing at pics and reviews made me want 1more but its sorting it... my last multi blew up and im back on FS and is ******* **** (same letters as fixed spool only more colourful) fixed spools feel so... detatched after using a multiLast edited by SnaggedUpLad; 05-01-2009, 10:05 PM.Species: Cod, Bass, Coalie, Flounder, Dab, Rockling, Mackerel, Plaice, Pollock, Ballen Wrasse, L/S Scorpion, Common Blenny, Weaver (unfortunately), Whiting, Common Eel, Trout, Pike... think that's it

If you can, try and be patient as they pop up on here and elsewhere all the time for a lot less than the retail price...Penn 525s and Daiwa Sloshes have all gone for that price...stick something in the "Wanted" bit...someone will prob answer your call
Okumas are an alternative but IMO they are very cumbersome...and the size 30 one that I've got hardly gets touched these days
for ease of use you can't go wrong with a slosh 20, that said I'm now starting to fall in love with my 525 ...at the end of the day it's down to what you can afford or are willing to spendOoh a new vid!

slosh 30
It is a cracking reel but you might struggle using one if you have small hands, the spool sits well up off the rod and it can be quite hard to get your thumb over enough to stop the spool from slipping mid cast, expecially when it's -4 degrees
You're more than welcome to try mine if you like, then you'll know for sure if it's the reel for you. Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that who cares?... He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!

I also found with my sl30sh that it is a lot bigger than say a 525, it can cause problems if your trying to power cast. However the sl30sh would crank the titanic back up and they are almost indestructible, so for those reasons they are great for rough ground. However for clean to mixed ground I'd try and get a 525 mag, might struggle to find one for £40 mind whereas there should be plenty of sl30shs for £40.Drowning worms since 2007.

(he says) cheers for the offer of trying yours mate.. for some reason i'm so paranoid of breaking any reel i touch (my reels so far fladen and £12 shakespeare so not suprised like) phil and sigsy say do you want a shot lol tried phils once on the tyne when he was practise casting... he passed me the rod and he flicked it over for casting.... i flicked it back thinking it wasnt..... almost went in the river lolSpecies: Cod, Bass, Coalie, Flounder, Dab, Rockling, Mackerel, Plaice, Pollock, Ballen Wrasse, L/S Scorpion, Common Blenny, Weaver (unfortunately), Whiting, Common Eel, Trout, Pike... think that's it

depending how much the reel means to you and how condifent you are that its not bound its self to the metal try a couple of taps with a impact driver (not my fault if it cracks the threads) i got a bolt on my bike that spins free but wont come off cause of my "impact" treatment lol was supposed to hacksaw it off months ago lolSpecies: Cod, Bass, Coalie, Flounder, Dab, Rockling, Mackerel, Plaice, Pollock, Ballen Wrasse, L/S Scorpion, Common Blenny, Weaver (unfortunately), Whiting, Common Eel, Trout, Pike... think that's it

got me slosh 30, class reel butneed alittle oiling so took it apart.... when put it back together it wont keep the line tight.... like when you tighten the line when your grip leads found itself... the handle just pulls in reverse instead.. probally a stuiped question like but, wtf have i done.. too much grease? (not on the bearing)Species: Cod, Bass, Coalie, Flounder, Dab, Rockling, Mackerel, Plaice, Pollock, Ballen Wrasse, L/S Scorpion, Common Blenny, Weaver (unfortunately), Whiting, Common Eel, Trout, Pike... think that's it
